Is the cars that are powered* now, rather than the track?

*i know the track is powered, but do the cars now have their own throttle sensor?

If they do, I'll buy another set.

bit of googling....

introduced, in 2004, is Scalextric Sport Digital (SSD), in which up to 4 digital cars can be raced in a single slot. The cars can change from one slot to another using special slot-lane change tracks, the lane change or otherwise being controlled by a button on the throttle. Sport Digital cars should run on non-digital track unmodified, but standard analogue cars require a new circuit (digital chip) to be added to them before they can run on the digital system

better explained in that the throttles now apply to an individual car, rather than an individual track

The tracks are all fully energised to 12 volts; the cars receive their instructions digitally though the tracks.

However it works, it doesn't improve the dodgy conections or mitigate the hours of frustration trying to get the damn things to work.

Anybody want to make me an offer for a huge carton of track and several digital and analogue cars?

PMs sent to Harry and nbt but I can't find your email, Wrightyson.

Gotta dig it all out of the attic and make a list.

Ooh...

I also have a massive amount of track, cars etc.

I will jump up in the loft, catalogue, and report back.

Anyone interested?

P

I'e got miles and miles of TCR track, and about 12 cars, all sitting in the loft waiting to refurbished. I had planned to ebay it, but its hard to let it go...

Can I add my name to the list of those interested in spare track/cars etc? <cough> "My Son" has just developed an interest in Scalextric too.
