- how intuitive is there operating system
- battery life
Thanks all

Typing on mine as we speak. Bloody brilliant phone, good battery life. Great camera. Made the switch from I phone 3 1/2 years ago after being an apple fan boi since the first I phone 3g. Oh and I won't be switching back, got the s6 still as my work phone and that is 3 years old and still going strong. Wireless charger is worth having tho as the port on my s6 has packed up.

Excellent phone although the Edge has the err... edge. Bigger screen and usefully longer battery.

That said of budget allows the S8 and S8+ are betterer again. Phones with bezels just look outdated in comparison.

(Note Mrs Danny has the S7 and I had the Edge and now have the S8+ so plenty experience with them).

Yep, great bit of kit. Lived on my bars for the Tour Divide and came out the other end unscathed and took some great photos.

It won't burst into flames, that was the note 7 and Samsung encouraged people to return them and acted very quickly. None of the Apple "you're holding it wrong" blame on the consumer. 😉

Both android and ios are sufficiently mature that neither are grief to use, I jumped ship from ios and it takes about a day to have figured out the differences.

Treat yourself to a decent 128gb+ SD card and set it up from the off to save all your pics/files to it and you'll be laughing.

I'm keen to try an S8 but the unlock pad is on the back and the s7 is nice for taking pics while riding and you can just keep riding, double click the home key take a pic, pop it back and carry on.....shallow I know! 😆

Oh, and you'll get a free Samsung Gear Fit 2 fitness tracker/smart watch with an S7/Edge from certain retailers. Great if you want one and £90 on ebay if you don't!

I had an s6 until it got stolen.

Replaced it with a Motorola and basically you're swapping applefanboi tax for Samsung fanboi tax.

If you mean the Galaxy S7, yes, it's an excellent phone with an outstandingly good camera. The Android software is easy to use even for an old man like me.

I got one last week from Music Magpie. Under £300 and no signs of use, it is like a new phone.

Good experience so far. Battery not outstanding but I thin that is more likely to be due to the fact that I keep playing with the phone cos it is new!

Treat yourself to a decent 128gb+ SD card and set it up from the off to save all your pics/files to it and you'll be laughing.

I don't understand this, do most people not keep photos in the cloud nowadays?

Yep, great phone, great camera, battery life and the waterproofing means it lives in my pocket when biking the hills, not in my pack.

Edge version is just a gimmick, and pointless if you have even the most minimal of cases on it.

Spigen case is great, very slim and good value btw.

Got one a few months ago after having iphones for a few years. As previously said, it takes a day or two to get used to the way the phone works when moving from apple but its just a better phone.

Taken the same pic side by side with the mrs and her iphone 6 and its so much better on the Samsung. Battery lasts much longer and its much easier to use.
Happy i made the change

I picked up a 2nd had one on Monday (after accidentally killing my Z1 Compact at the weekend).

Mostly very impressed with it... However...

It takes aaaaages to charge. I don't have the Samsung charger (nipping back to shop today as I think it should have had one with it) but I've been using a 2A output charger (same as I believe the official one is rated to) and it's still taking about 6hrs to get from 20% to 100% full. Hope it doesn't have a fault...

No it doesn't, the charger YOU have takes ages.

DezBJr has just got one and is very happy with it. Spends hours on Youtube exploring the cases, customisations, apps, crap, etc you can get to go with it 😆

Just for closure...

I got the proper charger and it's nice and speedy now.

I'd sworn I'd never have another Samsung again after the Galaxy S2. I found their Touchwiz UI to be really intrusive and annoying, but it's fair to say it's come on leaps and bounds since then.

Struggling to fault it.

S7 here, couldn't be happier. Great camera, easy to use and mine charges from empty in about an hour and 20 mins. As above needs an sd card.

I found it to be slippery to hold, bought a spigen tough armor case and no problems now. I was going to buy a case anyway but this might be an issue if you don't want a case.

Only gripe i had was with the inbuilt keyboard. I installed swiftkey keyboard instead, easier to use and loads of setup options. This is personal choice though.
