While I'd love a go on a big racer like that, this is more my bag;

Not me, BTW, but fast cats and Lasers are where it's at for me.

Oh, and Merlin Rockets and Salcombe Yawls of course.

Oh, and big open ocean cruising yachts as well. With a decent selection of vintage wine!

Dinghies are too tippy for me. Small catamarans are a bit frantic, tried a dart16 but not my thing. Open ocean racing is where its at.

i got into this boat racing lark in a big way at one point
little known fact

compositepro designed boats at one point...well did the composites on em

i still believe one of them holds the volvo ocean race record and won it oh and the other came second....

confidence in abilities shocker was when a main spar snapped on an americas cup boat...however that was ultimately down to shoddy argentinian workmanship

Ha, Captain... both of those videos are in my favorite list. Hydroptere is a proper boat, not a fragile freakazoid like sailrocket and just as fast.

Incidentally, this is who I work for...

I am one of three engineers who travel round the world and maintain these boats. Sail them too.

All sailing is awesome. I miss it dearly. I'm still pondering a fast cat when money allows.

Any sailing's good - one design racing is always good, doesn't matter what - two wheelie bins and a sail as long as its one rule for all.

Too many years trying to work out handicaps in 'other' classes and big yachts.

This was my class
