There was a piece about it in today's Guardian. He's 91 (!), and is terminally ill. A class way of dealing with it - he intends to keep setting so more power to his pen.
Anyone have the measure of the old master? Way too hard for me in general but I could put the occasional puzzle to bed if the theme jumped out at me.

My friend has MND (think Steven Hawking) and his daughter got Aracaria to do a specific crossword for him with clues from my friends own life...it was f'in incredible!
My friend loves him but can no longer do his crosswords, and in his words 'I can figure out the answers...but cant f'in write them down'!
