Doing a bike race and have booked a provisional flight home but not sure if i will make it as timing is tight. I haven't booked the bike on yet for that reason. Has anyone booked their bike on at the airport or is it compulsory to do it in advance online?
Cheers
I honestly thought Ryanair had started making bikes when I read the title. The bikes only £200 sir. Oh, you want wheels with it? That’ll be another £200 etc
Will be significantly cheaper doing it before you get there!! I've added bags on other airlines just before check in opens at the cheaper prices (I think I've done it at the airport in the line before but don't think Ryanair will be that easy)
It's safe to say it will probably cost you more

Watch out for the fee on paying the fees section
I've done it at the airport with ba, it was far cheaper to do it by the check in desk on the ba app before formally checking in rather than paying via the desk, the lady at check in told me this. Ryanair God knows!
Bike is £60 if booked online, £75 if you do it at the airport.
It's the more expensive end of the spectrum - Easyjet is £45 each way - but they're always pretty good about it; they get loads on flights to Mallorca, Geneva, Tenerife etc so they know what to expect.
I've never had any issues with them and they'e never questioned the box being stuffed full of clothing, tools, helmet etc.
Just be warned that some aiports are a right faff with oversize baggage. Malaga you have to get taken downstairs by a security guard and through an entirely separate machine as the bike box is too big to go through the "normal" oversize on the airport concourse.
