Anyone else doing the 12 hour run at Estnor? I've just decided to do it, 4 weeks to train. Eeek.

I'm hoping to do the TR24 one in July. Not as solo though 🙂

I got sent this link earlier in the week

"Running as fast as you can for 100 miles"

The first mile was passed in 5:19,
five miles[8km] in 27:49,
ten miles[16km] in 56:27,
15 miles in 1:25:22,
and 20 miles [32km] in 1:54:26. At this point, Woodward was running at almost ten and one half miles [17.5km] per hour.
His plan being to run the first 50 miles flat out then hang on for the second 50 miles.

Are these guys just born genetically superior for running as well as being supremely motivated?

Yes. There's a good quote, i can't remember exactly who said it but it was an American middle distance runner, along the lines of:

"To become an Olympian, first of all you have to win the genetic lottery. And all that lets you do is train harder than almost everyone else on the planet."
