Ref was a ucnt and thats all im saying on the matter.

He was indeed. Ritchey Gray should have been carded for pulling a man down at the line-out, and the ref kept alternating penalties at the scrum where Argentine were dominant. I'd also play devil's advocate and suggest that Morrison should have been carded at 40 seconds for a very cynical shoulder charge on Contepomi. It wasn't crossing as the ref said, he just wanted to smack the main Argie playmaker early on.

Yeah that is your only hope, beat us and georgia beat arg. Neither likely.. Can anyone see scotland putting four tries on us?

I can quite see Scotland winning, but not with 4 tries.

Toys you've misunderstood that rule. You only go through as many steps as you need to to split the teams. If they beat us and are level on points then they are above us in the pool on the direct result - the first of the 5 steps. The other steps are irrelevant as the teams were split on the first.

just watched the highlights prog, its quite amazing how poor a set of professional rugby players are at straightening, fixing and drawing a player before passing, seemingly no one in the Scotland team can do it. Watch Comtempomi in the lead up to their try for a lesson on how to do it.

to be fair the welsh midfield aint too hot at it either, its why Wales miss the man god Henson so much, he does this seemingly simple thing extremely well. How many times do we see even at this level people butcher overlap chances by throwing misspasses.

I dont pour well?

Exactly..

I'm sticking to my ego do it all yourself theory. Thats the root cause of no/crap offloads.

Indeed AA. Contepomi created the space for the try really well although the scorer stillhad a lot to do and a couple of tackles missed

Scotland usually make a load of offloads. Todays loss was all about the breakdown - how many times did Argentina take the ball - not so much the fault of the tackled player but that of the supporting players - first to the breakdown gets the ball or a penalty and usually the first there was an argie. Scotland just didn't ruck properly.

I shall console myself with

Pretty much the perfect beer for you, TJ! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I have a bottle of Fuller's Golden Pride chilling. 'Tis a scary monster....

Now then, about the game tomorrow.

Wales WILL win. Of that I am sure. By a good enough margin? I really don't know.

The only real consolation I can take from today's game is that it really does put some spice into next weekeend's fixtures

In all honesty Scotland are all but on the plane home :-(. But... It is not a totally ridiculous dream (and for now that is all we have)that Scotland can beat England by > 7 points AND Argentina will get a BP against Georgia (who will have had a thumping encounter with Romania mid week). Likely? No. Possible? Maybe.

If Scotland beat England by 8 points or more there will be some nervous onlookers at 3am Sunday morning!!! English hoping for a tight game with a close result or draw. Scotland hoping for anything but a close Argentine win.

Certainly have tried it, Darcy. For Scotchish beers, I prefer Williams Bros or Brewdog, though.

Of course this does set up a heroic failure opportunity for Scotland - what odds do I get on Scotland winning but by not enough? So England go thru on a losers bonus point?

TJ you are asking for odds but are not a betting man? I bet you a fiver on the argies beating you, you wouldn't take it. How about a fiver on England winning next weekend? Or call it two pints chosen and purchased by the loser to be bestowed on the winner?

beer should not be chilled, unless you don't want to taste it
I guess it's a strong one isn't it so maybe you don't want to taste it
.
I'm having a room temperature one of these ๐Ÿ™‚

Brakes, cellar temperature!

It's quite the little fighter of a beer, too.

I would hope for more than 30points but then this is Wales so any sort of bonus point win will do.

Shetland Pony this morning, little hoarse ๐Ÿ˜€

Let's start with the important things. $7.50 for a can of Heineken FFS. Had high hopes on the burgers as well but same sh1t in fancy nancy new wrapper, $7.50 for that as well. Would have been more nutritous to eat my shoes.

Awful night for rugby really but I expected that to suit us a bit more. Great atmosphere, HUGE amount of pumas fans - all good fun. Distinct lack of pipers as well ๐Ÿ™„ Was freezing cold and miserable. We really have no look of a team that could go anywhere eh ? I'd be ambarassed to go up against SA/Wallabies/AB in this state. Oh well, good game shaping up next Saturday. Also extremely awesome to bump into an old mate at the trough pre-game. Not much hand shaking happened to be fair ...

Sorry to digress from the Wales game (although they played well)....

Looking at he the Eng/Sco/Arg group there are several possibilities for qualification.

If Scotland beat England by more than 7pts and Argentina win without a BP then all three sides will have 14pts. On head-to-head this would rank Scotland above England, England above Argentina and Argentina above Scotland. (I'm assuming Scotland won't get 4 tries in any scenario.) This would leave points difference as the decider so with Eng 79, Arg 32, Scot 18 (currently) that order is unlikely to change enough so Eng/Arg qualify.

If Scotland win by 7pts or less then England get 15pts and win the group and Argentina are second if they win whether or not they get the bonus point.

If Scotland win by more than 7pts and Argentina win with a bonus point then Argentina win the Group with Scotland second.

If Scotland lose they could still qualify but they'd need a bonus point and Argentina to lose by more than 7pts.

Think that covers it? ๐Ÿ™‚

Think so Namaste.

If Scotland win by more than 7pts and Argentina win with a bonus point then Argentina win the Group with Scotland second.

this is perfectly possible and wouldn't half make me laugh.

Scotland going home is the most likely

Yeah, would be a shame. On current form England will trounce them though... but you never know with England Scotland eh?
Couldn't believe they let that Argie try in. I've never been tense during a Scotland game before!! That last 10 mins must have been murder for Scottish fans.

I'm glad Wales pulled it together in the end! The end of the first half was starting to look iffy.

No-one had a bad game as such but Priestland seems to prompt Wales in to attack much better than Jones. Jones didn't do too badly considering he's been out for a while but how many interception passes does he throw?!

Plus, if Wales get any injuries to the wings then we now know we have cover in the form of Gethin Jenkins ๐Ÿ˜€

Meanwhile Scotland's top cricketers were asked to leave the Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh after using it to deep fry a giraffe they had stolen from the local zoo.
