Oh, he's played 10 plenty for England, but I was just pointing out he's played 12 plenty too, and he's looking a natural there a the moment.

One of ours (charlie amesbury) played in that match didn't he? Did you notice how he got on by chance?

Aye - he was playing and as I say mentioned a few times by the commentators. One of the more obvious players on the pitch

On another topic - anyone give Glasgow a chance away to racing? Should be picking from a full strength squad more or less and they need to atone for some disasters in the last few weeks. gonna be one heck of an ask tho.

Frodo's mate just put in a massive hit on the Grenoble full back. Fist time I have seen him play since his injury. Keelan Giles scored 2 as well in a 7-59 away win!!

It would appear he has!

Swinging arm to the back of the head of Sean O'Brien. Stupid, needless. Not his normal brand of nasty cheating. 🙂

Hartley has done well for England under Jones so far but Eddie didn't look at all impressed. He lasted a whole six minutes!

The Northampton scrum has been pummelled tonight. Taking a wood off was a big call because he's been one of their best players tonight. They've done better than I thought tonight though.

Indeed - the only thing you're likely to do there is hurt your arm....

Saints given a real lesson there. Hartley you idiot! I think he was going to dislodge the ball rather than hit the man but how stupid was that.

Leinster on fire tonight.

Would sir like to rethink that?!?
Hanrahan and wood looked good. Picachu was quiet. Props taken apart.
Saints are shit this year.
Not impressed with BoD's commentating. You expect a bit of bias but he was disappointingly one-eyed. Just said one of the most stupid things I have heard from a commentator too. He could get up because he wasn't released and so wasn't held or somesuch nonsense. What a shame, I liked BoD.

Not really because I thought they were going to get totally spanked given how shit they've been in the premiership; like a 40 or 50 point humping. The defence was stout for a lot of the game and they almost looked fluid at times. Almost. Leinster looked very though and it's not often you see the Saints pack get munched like that. What I couldn't get my head round though was the commentators saying how good the Leinster line out was despite them losing a few???

Agree on BOD's commentating though. It's usually very good but last night he was in Jonathan Davies mode!

Saints are in real trouble this year and it's time for a coaching clear out. Mallinder and co have clearly taken them as far as they can and are now stale.

Looks like George may become England's starting hooker for the 6N. I imagine Hartley's ban will be lengthy as it won't be reduced for good behaviour!

Based on the middle reproachful look Clark got despite his previous, Hartley to be back for the second half of the 6n?

In that first gif it looks like a badly timed tackle / player to be tackled falling. The second one? Really...

He does know better because he doesn't do this shit when playing for England plus the protection of the head and neck area is massive at the mo so you need to be super careful.

I do think it was an attempt to dislodge the ball. However it was rekless and a swinging arm to the head. From what I have read on the IRB site it would appear its a 4 week starting point for his ban, he won't get any reduction for previous good behaviour but might not get anything added on although the fact the guy he hit was concussed and had to go off will be taken into account as well. 4-6 weeks off. Puts his place in the 6N in doubt and thus his participation i the lions tour.

Its a shame really - being England captain has been good for both him and the team and I had him down as lions captain.

One stupid act and all thats gone.

Even if he missed the head it would still have been a swinging arm. He'll get a ban that expires a couple of weeks before the 6 nations.

I'm not so sure. I reckon he'll get a nice rest and be back for (most of)the 6N. If he missed all the 6N, he'll be well fit for the Lions Tour.

Gats will take him if he's available - this isn't Stuart Lancaster we're talking about.

So - anyone give Glasgow a chance away to Racing? Nearly a full strength team and the league is pretty well gone so Glasgow can concentrate on the Euro cup.

Well I gave Glasgow no/little chance away in Paris and the French side needing a performance after loosing to Leicester. Well done to them and Munster absolutely thrash Leicester. That throws the group wide open. I've got the two Paris group games lined up Jan 7 and 15 but they may even be dead fixtures by then for Racing who must win now in the return fixture in Glasgow. Munster / Leicester should be a good one too.

😯

WTF? Edinburgh win after being 17 points down?
Softest red card ever as well. Slap to the face, Red card. Correct by the laws tho. Dreadful dive by Pape as well although not bought by the ref. Hopefully he gets cited for the dive. Should have yellow carded him for the dive

Looked a lot like a punch to me. Diving? Maybe a little, but it was a clear red.

Ah - its a rowdy bunch there. this is why its known as the cathedral of rugby. Nice and peaceful

Probably around 4 000 in actuality
Edinburgh do no promotion at all. I forgot it was on or I might have gone.

CFH - definitely a red as the law stands. clearly open hand tho and hardly made contact- the officials said that but he went down like he had been shot. I'm sure there will be a gif soon so we can see. It was worthy of Ronaldo the dive. Worst dive I have seen.

You could see the officials did not want to give the red card as it was so soft but I don't think they had any choice. Pape should have been yellow carded for the dive tho or the pen reversed.

I forgot that one CFH. Infamous.

Worse than that wrecker. Pape - big tough back row given a little slap - went down like he was shot holding his face and pretended to be stunned - even had the trainer on to check him. I think Pape will be embarrassed tomorrow

Just been watching England win the Cape Town 7s, beating Fiji and SA along the way. Brilliant stuff. 😀

Just a thought. Dan Norton. I know he never made it at 15s with Bristol/Gloucester and the consensus was he was too lightweight. He looks a bit more powerful now and he's effing quick. In a sport where almost everybody is quick - he still burns most people off. His extra time try against Fiji was terrific, not just pace but a stop-and-go to beat the first man followed by an in-and-out to beat the sweeper. His defence has been top notch and his all round ability and reading of the game likewise.

Anyway, France bought in Vakatwawhotsisname straight from their 7s squad into the 6N last year and he was a hit. Maybe EJ should take a look at Norton? OK, at 28 maybe it's a bit late for him to go back to 15s but I'd love to see it.

Me too. Can he debut against Wales please.

Meanwhile this made me chuckle..objectionable little **** Keet Earls

"It was a massive game, it meant a lot to us,” says Earls. “It was a tough week in general, from burying your head coach and then an hour later doing a captain’s run. It’s just not right.

“I suppose the only thing I do apologise for – I don’t apologise for anything else - is kicking the bottles on the side of the pitch. I wouldn’t like to see a young lad doing that at underage or some young lad at Thomond Park.

“I suppose I’ve been waiting to be interviewed to apologise for that.

“I don’t apologise for the rest of it.

“I spoke to Fraser Brown on the phone and I felt he could have done a bit more. Yes, I did lift his leg but I felt he could have done a bit more to save the impact. The way he went, I thought he was going for it a small bit, to be honest with you. I spoke to him and he said he was just trying to protect himself.

“I felt I was cheated really going off the pitch; they denied me an opportunity to put in a performance for my head coach and the Munster supporters, so I kind of lost it a bit coming off the pitch.”

Think someone has had a quiet word with (by quiet word I mean boot up the arse)

The following statement has been issued by Keith Earls.

I wish to address my part in the Champions Cup Munster v Glasgow Warriors game and a subsequent interview I held, as the incident in question has rumbled on for a number of weeks and in addressing this I hope to put to bed a matter that has escalated because of my own doing.

In a poorly worded interview on my part I failed to acknowledge that I apologised to Fraser Brown for my actions during the Munster v Glasgow Warriors game. I also failed to confirm that I acknowledged I had committed an act of foul play, and fully accepted the corresponding sanction, apologising to Glasgow Warriors and EPCR for my conduct.

I have since written to EPCR once again confirming my acceptance of the disciplinary decision and outcome. I have also addressed the misunderstanding directly with Fraser and unreservedly apologised again for my actions and the wording I used during the interview.

I hope this paints a clearer picture for all and I believe it is important October 22nd in Thomond Park is remembered for the right reasons and not for something I deeply regret.

You are right on this one at least for most of today.... Normally his modus operandi is to try to blind people and the key point here is deliberately

That's a bit of an over reaction!

The odd thing is that his discipline is pretty good for England, but it's awful for Saints.

Still don't think that a player with 54 weeks* of bans is the right person to captain a national side from a reputation standpoint. Sends a bad message.

*And counting.....

If you ad up all the missed Lions and England fees as well as his domestic losses he must have lost AT LEAST £500k in earnings.

He did it.

He got sent off.

He'll be banned for a few/several weeks.

He'll come back and play for England again and, most likely, the Lions too.

We'll all be cheering for him if he's in the Test XV against the ABs whether we like him or not.

Personally, I think his appointment by EJ was exactly the deliberate message that EJ wanted to send.
England were almost "nice" under Lancaster, and that was going to change.
Results have too
