I bet the meerkats started the fire as a diversionary tactic to cover up their escape.

The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long - and you have burned so very, very brightly, Mr Aardvark.

This thread really is an emotional rollercoaster for Josh.

Plays a blinder with the chaardvark comment, then descends into wanton plagiarism.

Apologise to the meerkats

Yes they could be completely innocent and possibly victims. Let’s not smear the meer.

ZSL related.

Our lab has just won a collaborative £1m grant to hopefully answer the question why elephants don't get cancer. (We kinda know it's because they have multiple copies of p53 gene)

We have access to the ZSL preserved dead animal archive which goes back >100 years.
When I heard about the fire I was worried that preserved specimens may have been lost.
Sad for aardvark & meerkats too tho.

My day job involves collecting colons from cancer surgeries, Im going to need a bigger bucket, for the elephant colons!

I did some electrical work there last year. My first thought was if it started anywhere near there. Seems it did start pretty close (adjacent building) but far enough away to be nothing to do with me 8)

Sadly, we've just got news in that he survived.
