Does anybody know of (freeware) software I can use to make a diagram of a road junction, including traffic lights, pedestrian crossings etc.? Anything to make this simpler would be good, as it's hard going in Word drawing that I'm using at the moment.
paper, pen and a subsequent photograph/scan?
google sketchup
I'm sure there's some road design experts on here.
pixel -> gimp
vector -> Inkscape
Sketch up, you can get models of the bits you want and make it 3d too!
Microsoft Visio has a set of road templates with furniture, cars etc.
SketchUp (+3, is it?) for all the reasons mentioned above....

That's what I'd be using if I had access to it (used to use it in work), but sadly it's not freeware.
Thanks for the Sketchup suggestions - will have a look at that. I suppose if I'd got my user requirements right I'd have said I want technical drawing software, but the requirements capture didn't go well!
