It's official!(No, it really is this time)
The SiMMS relief road is on it's way.
"Funding For SEMMMS Relief Road in Place
Stockport has scored a multi-million pound victory in its long-running campaign to win funds for the crucial SEMMMS by-pass.
Leaders of the 10 Greater Manchester authorities agreed to back funding for the long-awaited £290 million SEMMMS relief road, which will run from the A6 at Hazel Grove to Manchester Airport.
The £125 million approved by leaders of Association of Greater Manchester Authorities (AGMA) comes on top of £165 million already offered by the Government in November last year.
A full consultation process will take place on details of the project; work could start in 2012 and be completed by 2015. "
Big compensation for us and we won't even know it's there! The next close over aren't going to be so happy so we'll not be too obvious in our new found wealth. We have a heart 🙂
no trains but more roads. That's what we need.
Every silver lining has a cloud, unfortunatley.
On the even more plus side(s), a TT course closer than Monksheath crossroads at Macc. and no more death runs from the Bulls Head pub to Stepping Hill hospital twice a day.
Still not sorting Mottram in Longdendale then?
🙄
