As much as love F1 & think that this last season has been the best for many years – that clip was truly awesome – two legendary & committed drivers racing for position – top stuff

Brilliant part of the race. tho thats about the most exciting bit of that race.
But ground effects cars, a 3000cc flat 12 engine in a chassis never meant to have Ground Effects verses the 1500cc V6 turbo of the Renault (which scored the first victory for a turbocharged car.

RIP Gilles.

I'd also put John Watson's wins in Detroit and Long Beach as among the great classic drives - winning from 13th and 22nd position, on very tight and twisty tracks. Absolutely brilliant!

oh and i watched the video of the extended highlights of the 1982 Brazilian GP the other day - brilliant race between Keke Rosberg, Piquet Snr and Gilles...
