What's the betting that Alonso goes mega light to get pole & then holds the whole pack up for 10 laps or so

Alonso should be banned at the very least, he could have easily killed another driver or even a marshal or spectators....Just look at Surtees a few days before.

He's one of the best few drivers out there, but I hate the big chinned basterdo, now even more so.

From the BBC:

They also determined that "being aware of this, Renault failed to take any action to prevent the car from leaving the pit lane... and failed to inform the driver of this problem or to advise him to take appropriate action given the circumstances, even though the driver contacted the team by radio believing he had a puncture."

Not liking someone isn't good enough to ban them! Alonso didn't know so why should he suffer on behalf of the team. Hope he wins on home soil.

Would this has been treated so harshly if the Surtees incident hadn't happened - prob not imo.

Not Alonso's fault but Renault's so prob just a heavy fine.

Just to add, I dont like Alsono either!

You hate him for what exactly? Didn't notice him hopping out to change the wheel himself.

Anyway, glad they've reversed it- it was an understandable decision given Suretees and Massa but not really consistent with similar situations.

Are you saying he didn't notice his wheel hanging off? He should have parked it straight away....
