Better to regret something you did, than something you didn't do though, right?

Andouillette

Whenever anyone complains about British cuisine and compares it enviously to that of our French cousins, I can only assume that they've never been within 10 feet of a plate of Andouillette.

and by the way, if you see your mom this weekend, be sure and tell her ...

If it burns going in, it's only logical that it's going to burn coming out too.

My Mum grew up in Germany at a time where it wasn't uncommon for a family to fatten their own pig. Apparently the only part you can't eat is the squeak.

Andouillette regrets?? You savages, you have no taste!

A good quality, preferably AAAAAA, Andouillette with Dijon mustard and maybe some choucroute/sauerkraut is a delight. As is a plate of smoked fish with choucroute.

I slightly regret not lowering the ladder a couple of wrungs before cleaning the conservatory and this is definitely regretting something I did, not something I didn't do.

I would have thought that no sense of taste (or smell) would be quite helpful when it comes to devouring the old porcine poop chute.

I remember misreading the menu and encouraging my now-wife to order it in some provincial eaterie back in the 90s. I was not popular.

I cooked them for the family in France. Didn’t end well. Now post covid and sans smell, can’t see the issue. 🤣

It can be "porcine poop chute" but a good one is lovely.

A genuine regret of mine was assuming that "Tête de Veau" was a nice veal dish. It's basically a slice of calf's neck with nothing spared - bone, something that was supposed to be meat, gristle, fat, a bit of skin etc.

Urrgh

This is a good point. I had two sons climbing up a ladder at our house while we were on holiday. Guess which story and image I shared with them about not falling off...

When my Mummy said I should be an example to others, I am not sure that was quite what she meant 🙂
