Can anyone suggest some decent referencing software? Preferably free?

I'm writing my dissertation, and have realised that my usual tactic known as "3 hours of pain just before hand in" might not cut it 😆

We've got endnote in our place, but a few people I know have been using Zotero and seem pretty pleased with it.

Think it's a plug in for Firefox.

Whack it into Google and have a look.

Cheers, have just installed it. It looks like a work of complete genius.

The only downside is that I'm realising how many hours of panic I could have saved in the past!

What's your dissertation? Mine is 95% complete and this week I have started writing some additional chapters in the hope that it will some day find a publisher. I am not using software, just doing things manually with Mac Pages.

Eh? What? Are you stupendously ahead of yourself or do you have an early hand in date?

Business, entrepreneur's strategies to be precise.

Referencing software will definately make your life easier.

I finished my Undergrad disertation on the morning I had to hand it in. Loads more organised for MA though, finished that at about 3AM the day before. Although that's actually still the hand in day.

I used Ref Works which was free (when I was a student at least) and pretty decent if you learnt the basics.

If you decide to purchase Endnote, your Uni/College should be able to offer a discount. Ask at the library.

Do it now - I've never met anyone who's regretted using referencing software.

And thanks Colonel, Zotero looks well worth investigating.
