Any recommendations on books highlighting the best walks in the Lake District and Peak District?
Are the AA - 50 Walks in ... decent?
I recently ordered a couple of Vertebrate guidebooks to the Peak District.
I like their MTB guides, so I hope the walking routes are just as good.

Pocket mountains produce some nice small format guide books too, I have a few of them now, always seem to be nice well chosen routes, haven't been up to the lake district yet as only got the books through a couple of weeks ago, but have done routes on Skye, in the Cairngorms, Northumberland and down in Devon.
I do have the VP book for the Lake District and can confirm that it's every bit as good as their MTB books.
I read that at as walking boots for Lakes and Peak District
Location-specific boots now!
What [s]tyres[/s] boots for....
They're for a present, so the Vertebrate books look perfect, thanks.
johndoh - I did the same ๐
I wouldn't dream of using the same sole tread for the Lakes and the Peak.
Lakes.
Wainwright walks are available online.
High Peaks of England and Wales is good (available used online for a couple of quid)
I haven't done so much walking in the Peak, mainly riding with routes off of here
