Taking friends this october with us to a weekend trip. I've been to NWales before, stayed in Dolgellau (biking holidays) but this time think need to try something different. Betws y Coed or Llanberis. Please do recommend me inexpensive B&B (upto 70prpn bugdet). As this time holidays have to be more relaxed aka sedate walking trips to Snowdon if weather permits, maybe touristy visit to some Castle etc. Need to impress my mother-in-law ... you probably know the score?! 😉

Thanks in advance.

I can't really offer anything in October but would highly recomednd this place near Bala. Stayed there last year it was amazing.

Or this place at Capel Curig would be good for walking and doing nothing.

Striking distance of castles, mountains, beaches, narrow gauge railways and lots, lots more.

I've stayed at both of these and they were both very nice, I'd recomend either depending which side of Snowdonia you prefer to be on:

West of Snowdon:

East of Snowdon.

If I had to pick one I'd go for the Betws Inn. Nice rooms with really good ensuite bathroom and a cracking breakfast.

living here, don't get to stay in bnbs'-- but the church in capel is supposed to be good, you also have the option of a few pubs' down the road, in betws garmon you are on your own. Both on the sherpa bus routes, so you can do walks that need not be circular.
