After a 500gb, or sod it, maybe a 1tb.
Anything fairly reliable out there?
My Iomega 500gb has crashed 🙁
Have had one of these Freecom NAS ones for over a year now with no probs. Bit expensive through, don't appear to have come down in price.
i buy old 2nd hand drives and have a hd enclosure that takes different connectors.
Western Digital or Seagate are meant to have the best rep for reliability. Ebuyer is usually a good place to look.
I've had a lacie drive for ~3 years and its pretty darn good.

my seagate failed, had to break open to remove SATA drive to save data.
I picked up a Western Digital 1TB one from Currys or somewhere for about £50. Only annoyance is needing a separate power source, but seems very good so far.
I recently purchased a Western Digital 1TB MyBook from Amazon.
I only read all of the "avoid this hard drive at all costs" reviews after mine had failed. Fortunately Amazon have a good returns policy.
Replaced it with a Seagate 1TB drive which thus far has been fine.
Ordered the Seagate from Flaperon's link
Thanks.
