Thought I could hook my ipod up through the hifi I have in my garage, but no luck.
The little ILogic docking station speakers I have aren't loud enough to be heard over the sound of my turbo trainer, so am after a set with more power!
Looking to spend about £50, but will go higher if that's unrealistic.
What d'ya reckon?

I can whole heartedly recommend the Griffin Amplifi, though it's a little more than £50. VERY loud if you want it!

Far cheaper and better sound by buying some decent headphones that you can just plug into the iPod. Get the type with cushions that partly go over your ears as they will cut out some of the sound from the trainer. And you won't p*ss off the neighbours

I've got same and they are outstanding. 'Proper' hifi quality that you would expect from Monitor Audio. Don't think they are made anymore, but if you can find 2nd hand you won't regret it. Think they were a whacking £300 new.
Is there really no way to hook it up to the hifi? As a worst case, you could use an iPod cassette deck adapter in the tape deck?

If your stereo has got Aux in plugs there is no reason why you can't plug your iPod in. Good thing about the deck is that you don't have to worry about charging the iPod.
ps trust me, that iDeck is the nuts
We've got some Numark M20 self-powered speakers that I think are usually used as DJ monitors. We bought them for when we're screening films, so they've got enough oomph for a moderate sized audience, but they are also fairly compact (about the size of bookshelf speakers) and fuss free. When they are off duty, they have an ipod plugged into them in the kitchen.

I have Creative 2400 speakers, they are a few years old but nice 2.1 sound for not too much wedge.
