I'm having trouble finding what I would like, may be the stw masssive will have an idea. Item #3. Seems to be the stumbling block.

#1. 13.3-14" screen. I travel a lot and 15"+ screen just end up too heavy, big and alkward.

#2. i7, dual core is fine.

#3. 16gb ram compatible. Does not have to come with 16gb but need to be able to take it as I run a VM often.

#4. Ideally HP, lenovo, dell due to Linux comparability, but that is just a preference.

#5. <£800

Not wanting a massive 15" seems to screw up things up on the ram front, would be easy otherwise!

Trouble is I would not want to pay the premium for apple and then run Linux as the main OS...

I just bought an HP envy. not sure how much ram it can take, comes with 8Gb. seems nice, light enough, battery lasts 5-6hrs.

Have a look at Dells outlet. They are refurbished but decent savings to be had.
