Preferably with more character than Morrisons café!

Hoping to catch up with a mate next Saturday morning - he's in Manchester, I'm near Derby. Original plan and location has changed so thinking somewhere in or near Buxton would be a good idea. Needs to be a substantial breakfast, decent coffee and not too sniffy if we spend a couple of hours catching up.

Cheers

I haven't been myself but have it on good authority that Cobbles Cafe in Longnor is very good - and cyclist friendly.

It is, and it is. Opens 9am Sat & Sun.

Buxton itself, about the only place I know that's gauranteed to be open and "decent" is Costa in the pedestrianised market street thing.

Other places I'd recommend is Rosie's Cafe in Hayfield or either Grasshopper Cafe (used to be the Woodbine) or Cafe Adventure, both in Hope.

The Cafe At Green Pavilion in the centre of Buxton. Food is ace. Opens 9am. Cycle friendly, we often pop in when out on the tandem.

Thanks for the ideas - hadn't realised Green Pavilion was still going.

Original plan was the Penny Pot but no longer going across to Edale
