MrsJ wants to listen to Classic FM while she’s pottering in the kitchen. Don’t judge me, she didn’t like that rubbish when we met. Anyway, for reasons too complicated to understand it seems that it won’t play on our HomePod so I’m thinking Santa might bring a DAB+ radio. Any suggestions? I’m thinking 50 quid, but could be more generous for a significantly better piece of kit. Thanks!!

Have you tried casting from TuneIn Radio app? It pesters you to pay for a subscription when you first open it but you can ignore that, it'll just play one ad before your stream starts and that's it.

If you have Prime an Echo Dot is a no-brainer. Pretty much all my home radio use is through one.

My experience of cheap DAB radios isn't very good. Sound is rubbish and struggle to pick up anything but strong signals.

Roberts Play 11.

Buy Roberts Play 11 DAB+/FM Portable Radio - Black | Radios and clock radios | Argos

I have one for the bathroom. 100% recommended and 1p under budget!

Get some rechargeable batteries though as it does go through them quite quickly.

Thanks for that. How do you actually do that - start the app on you phone and then play it over the HomePod ?

I think so. If you have devices set up as streaming output options already it should work. Screenshot_20251215-105820.png I just click this button and it lets me zoom it over to whatever speaker is in range
