as per title. I have £240-260 per month to spend but cheaper would be preferrable!
what you recommend? I have been looking at the Focus estate tdi for around £260pm but open to other options

Focus is a good choice TBH.
Worth looking at the Astra Estate - not out in the new shape yet so should be cheap. We had a 1.9CDTi Design estate from new for four years and it was a very decent machine - massive boot, nippy, well specced.
Anything a bit "prestige" will be a rip off with few real benefits.
Worth looking at the Mazda 6 estate too - might be in your price range (but unlikely)
