I'm looking for a nice Hotel/B+B/Guest house in or around Hexham. Not really having much look with Google, a boutique place would be spot on

Thanks

Once had a very good 3 day Christmas deal at the George, Chollerford. I would go back so can recommend it. I can't remember if there was secure bike parking or not though.

Don't stay at the Beaumont or the station inn. That's my only advice. I grew up there, so never had the need to stay in a hotel. Have a look at B+Bs in corbridge maybe? (4 miles along the road with connecting train station + buses)

That looks nice? What are you going to Hexham for?

Langley Castle, about 10-15 minutes drive towards Carlisle. Turn left at Haydon Bridge.

Not cheap but how often do you get to stay in a 14th century castle.

I got married there, it was lovely

to be honest there isnt much actually in hexham at all in the way of hotels etc. langley castle isn't a bad shout, but you will be better off looking for somewhere else in the tyne valey. i know the owners of the barrasford arms (used to work for them in hexham golf club)- great place; they have rooms and a top notch restaurant attached: http://www.barrasfordarms.co.uk/

EDIT: Looks like they've got some special rates at the moment as well...

+1 for not much actually in Hexham itself. There's more B&B type accommodation in Corbridge, and some better pubs, too.

If you just want something vaguely nearby, I've heard positive things about Carraw, maybe 15 mins drive away and near the Wall.

Last year I stayed in a bnb about 15 miles west, owner had giant cats, it was in a wee village and I liked it.

Slaley Hall?

Slaley is a big golf type hotel, bit bland if you ask me but if you want modern hotel facilities then it would be good.

Langley is full history and in a good spot. Recommend.

Mind, they are both hotels not B&B. Corbridge is agood little village with lots of B&B type places, not sure boutique is the right word but you'll find lots of better class of lace, lots of lavender scented drawers, lovely if that's your thing.

Langley is probably the closest to boutique.

I didn't realise the barrasford arms had rooms. I change my vote to them. The food is phenomenal.

If you fancy self-catering and are staying for a few days, this place was fantastic when we stayed last year:

Not huge, but very nice, great setting and very reasonably priced.
So many nice pubs nearby it's hardly worth cooking.

Barrasford Arms - I know the management 😉 (not well enough to get a deal though)

Angel in Corbridge is nice.
Try Lord crewe Arms in Blanchland for something different...
