If you're in or visit London, I highly recommend going to Otto Lenghi. The place is great and if it sounds slightly pretentious, its really not - just great flavours all round.
And if you can't make it to London, get the book and follow it to the letter, ie. make sure you buy all the ingredients. Its well worth it.
Is all.
meanwhile i will say that baxters "healthy" bean and pasta soup Looks like spew and doesnt taste much better .....
Hmm, there's one of those over the road from my local Waitrose...might have a look in next time I'm passing.
I go to the one in Islington every once in a while and it's not bad at all.
Why not try the Oxo tower? It always gets rave reviews:

Try and and resist once you've had a butcher's. Even looking is good as everything is on display (not talking Oxo-tower innuendo here...).
