I've used a number of web conference type thigs recently for work related topics and even just team chats, but there are limitations.

What conferencing facilities have you found that feel more sociable and allow multiple conversations to take place side by side but not overlapping? you know, like a party type environment? or are they all where one person gets the stage and everyone must listen?
i'm thinking like a modern version of a chat room from the noughties? private chats combined with public chats but with video?

I thought you meant pub, as in the place we used to go and sit down for a drink. Remember?

Off the back of the above, we used Zoom.
But, it’s doesn’t work as well if everyone talks at the same time so we found a pub quiz format worked well.
Had a lovely evening on Saturday talking rubbish and drinking together.
