Much as I can't stand the show, I think I will be watching it this year! Darcey Bussell also one of the judges so another good reason to watch!

They going to dig her up then?

Seems in poor taste.

Is this the least surprising announcement of the year?

Her autobiography "Between the Lines" is out on thursday, should be quite a revealing read.

If she can quite moaning about how cycling has been her life for years for five minutes that would be a start

I don't warm to her, all that neurotic whiny self-obsessed stuff, and the pouting in cosmetics ads, just gives female sports people a bad name.

Mind you I guess that description could fit any premier league Soccer player.

As far as her upbringing was concerned, having watched that documentary on her, you'll not need to read the biography, just watch some old fast show sketches instead....

Yeah, it'll be crap watching her do the Argentine Tango in a skimpy outfit. When the wife puts Strictly on (you do call it "Strictly"?), I'll be walking right out of that room and go fiddle with bike parts in the garage.

Does very much smell of cashing in while she can. In some respects I can't blame her, her earning power in the future is all about remaining in the public eye and somehow transition from athlete to personality.

Good luck to her, as above, she has to put food on the table.
If it was anything like the Argentinian Strictly I've seen clips of (definitely not work safe) then I'd be in the shed with DezB.

I believe the show approaches people they're interested in, rather than the other way around.

Yes I'm sure they do. They pick some totally left-field people, some people who can actually probably dance and some people "of the moment". A lot of people turn it down though so it's not like asking is such an honour that you can't say no. I don't blame her, as I said, she has a finite period to reinvent herself as Victoria Pendleton, "sports personality" before she becomes Victoria Pendleton "former cyclist" in the minds of the general public. Might be she wants the latter and will do her best to earn a load now then quietly slip off stage when she has a family.

I'd rather someone of worth and achievement (like Vic) was famous than some vacuous ninny.

I think if she, and other athletes, spend their efforts and time on training rather than touring/modelling/filming they might be a whole lot better!

Yeah, you're right. She's won virtually bugger all, has she? Total lack of application I reckon! Way too busy swanning around doing girly stuff to actually train hard enough to be successful

Oh....wait.... hang on a minute....

There's one person in the world - her career-long nemesis - who's faster than her. And that's when she's ready for retirement. She's won a shed-load of World Championships and Olympic medals. How can you possibly question her application? I'm sorry, but that's just ridiculous

Hang on... you're not her dad, are you? ๐Ÿ˜†

She's always made a big deal about how she likes to remain feminine and girly as well as being a top level athlete, and how the two aren't mutually exclusive. Strictly seems to be a perfect fit for her now that she has retired from competition.
Good luck to her.

Her dad seems like a right ****. He came across really badly in that documentary about her.

I don't know wether to be proud or a bit disgusted that Ms Pendleton reminds me a lot of an ex of mine, looks, personality, "physique" etc. Mad as a hatter she was, very strange personality. Fit though.

Guffaw lolcopters ๐Ÿ˜† poor Vic being lampooned. It's not always wise to wear ones heart on ones jersey sleeve.

I like watching cycling, not ex cyclists prancing about in posh frocks.
You cant blame her for cashing in though.
