Any idea on where will be best to watch tomorrow in West/South Yorkshire?

I'm going with my old man, and brother, and we were planning to go up Holme Moss, but it's about 4miles away from the flight path. Have you lovely lot got a better plan?

We'll be coming across from Leeds.

Think I'm going to head over to Samlesbury instead of Blackburn, apparently they are going over the new Thwaites site at Mellor Brook http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/11455373.ONCE_IN_A_LIFETIME__Lancaster_Bombers_to_fly_over_East_Lancashire_this_weekend/

Nice and flat over there too so should be a decent view.

Bit far for us that, they're supposed to be passing over Holmfirth, so if anyone's got any good ideas for that direction would be good?

Saw them over harrogate this morning with a cup of coffee, nice start to a Sunday, just wish I'd got up a wee bit earlier so I could get closer to the flight path. Serves me right for not getting home from work till 2am.

My nephew and I was on the top of Helvellyn on the bikes this morning (around 9:30) and we herd them traveling up to Scotland. Well I guess it was them, didn't see anything but the sound was immense.

Makes you wonder what it must have been like during the war with loads flying over.

That was ace! Watched from Tetney Lock - got out of the car and they were approaching from the west about half a mile south. Just after they passed us they did a full 180 turn and went right over us. Amazing sight!
My pics are atrocious 🙁

Bit too far away for my camera - these are quite heavily cropped, but still very worth the trip up from Sheff. We were up on the hill to the east side of thw town, and they flew a big loop around us. A surprisingly low key event compared to the dambusters one last year at Ladybower.

Was stood near to the main gates at BAe, they more or less came straight over our heads.

Almost had a dusty eye moment.

Even Mrs B was impressed (which isn't often).

Nah, grew up in the south lakes and heard and seen plenty of jets flying over on manoeuvres over the years. The sound this morning though was certainly propeller based.

Should've had the shutter speed a bit slower too. The sound of those engines gives me goosebumps every time.

I saw them coming over the M65 as I was coming back from Lee Quarry. Flew up and over our heads, all traffic slowed down. I turned the radio off and dropped all the windows to listen fantastic sights and sounds.

Just back from a packed Morecambe where we stood on the end of the stone jetty. Everyone went quiet as we watched two tiny lines over the mountains of Lakes come towards us. They looked like they were going to fly past us to Heysham then banked round and flew right over us. Bloody awesome. Loved it. 😀

I was well surprised when they overtook me on my run this morning, near clapham station. Really low and close, but no pics as I wasn't exactly ready for it...

Stood in Victoria park in Holmfirth. Mrs NBT was aghast to learn that I hadn't brought a camera but as I said, it's the only chance I'll ever get to see this, I want to watch it not watch a viewfinder. Awesome sight, proper brought a lump to my throat. It even impressed my 11 year old nephew and for something that doesn't involve scooters or skateboards, that's good going

Eggszackerley.

I always make the mistake of trying to film/take rubbish pics so decided just to watch.

Stunning.

Had the pleasure this weekend of seeing the Vulcan on Saturday and Sunday, and then the lancasters and spitfires on Sunday. Brilliant!. The Vulcan at full tilt is a fantastic noise.

First Prestwick airshow since the 70's, here's hoping it keeps going.

We parked up on the hill on Carnforth side of Morecambe.

Saw them come over Holmfirth when I was out on the road yesterday afternoon. Kind of mixed feelings, nostalgia yes, but also an awareness that these things - regardless of the rightness of the cause - killed countless thousands of people in their time.

What was it about them that got people so worked up? Nostalgia, spectacle, curiosity, something else? Just intrigued.

...killed countless thousands of people in their time.

So did some Germans. Do you feel uneasy when you see a BMW?
