Know the fenix 7 is due imminently, but it’ll be painful at full retail, so If anyone sees a really good offer on a Fenix 6X Pro Solar please let me know. I passed on the enduro that was silly money on this thread, as the solar X is the one I’ve been after.

I too have not had any updates, other than a web chat a few days ago that confirmed they are thinking about what to do.

All seems very odd. Maybe they are waiting for a more senior person to come back after the break and give the final verdict.

And fwiw and as a bit of an opposite look into Garmin from TPs troubles, as a family we have had various Garmins since the good ol days of the Etrex launch.

All have behaved well and they even replaced an Edge 305 free that developed a fault after 2+ years.

Must have easily had 15+ Garmin devices over the years. Currently have 2 x Edge 530 bike computers, a 735XT watch (mine) and a 945 watch (wifes). She has just bought a 6S pro solar to replace her 945 as it never sat right on her small wrists.

If my order comes through, I'll be replacing 3 products, including the 735 - so fingers are still crossed.

Thanks @jimmy748 but I’m after the larger screen “X” model.

There don’t seem to be too many really good deals on the solar version of the X

Yes I noticed that just after posting, there’s certainly an array of models!

Something feels ‘off’ with Caher’s and Pondo’s combined experience.

Not sure what you mean, but mine was with the UBS driver and should have been delivered last Thursday.

Ooooh. I've lay awake all new year holiday thinking about how great it would be to even get an email.

I just got this response from webchat:

"stock has been allocated to your order and is ready to leave the warehouse so you should receive a shipping confirmation email shortly"

Bit nuts, really, as a purchaser in the 21st century, eleven days after ordering, to still not actually be sure whether anything's going to turn up or not. The ambiguity is not good for my stress levels!

Sorry to be unclear, just that it seems poor show from Garmin that some are getting their orders whilst others are ‘being reviewed’ - whatever that means. I guess to be fair, without this thread nobody would be the wiser.

There were various models/colours on sale. Is it possible that the variation we're seeing is related to that? Househusband got his Surf quickly. Maybe that was straightforward as there was one "on the shelf".

I've just got through on the live chat and been told my order is "under review" as it's still being processed. I queried what "under review" means and it's just in a queue to be dispatched by the warehouse staff. So my fingers remain crossed.

Yes I see what you mean I ordered mine (just 1) around 11am Xmas day and already had an account. So not sure if they're using some sort FIFO method or something.

Same here mate.

Today is the first day back to normal, so I guess we’ll have a better idea by close of business tonight.

Maybe.

Not heard a sausage.

Please accept my apologies for my earlier optimism.

In my defence I did say 'maybe'.

Just to keep this going, the order is still in progress on the website for me. So, maybe it could be that the pending payment has timed out or what ever.

I had another web chat this afternoon and still non the wiser. Was told they are looking at the orders with the utmost urgency but can't give any assurances or timescales on what they are actually looking at it if they will be honoured.

Sit and wait I guess.

Maye they are hoping for most buyers to get annoyed and cancel.

That's normal pending payments, nothing unusual.

Pending transactions can be debit card payments you’ve made

When you use your debit card to pay for something, it’ll show up straightaway in your account as a pending transaction. It’ll reduce your available balance, but not your account balance. This is because the money has been reserved, ready for the company to take, but hasn’t left your account yet.

We will remove a pending transaction if it hasn't been taken within 7 days

We’ll stop reserving the money after 7 days, so that the money is available for you to spend. The pending transaction will no longer show in your account and your available balance will go back up.

However, it’s a good idea to keep enough money in your account to cover the payment. That’s because some can take up to 120 days to go through. So, the money could still be taken at a later date.

No change here either, order still there, payment not pending any more (which is normal, as above).

Just to add to the noise. Paypal payment taken from current account New Year's Eve but no emails or update to the order status online.

Maybe they've been swamped and given they've likely make an error in the pricing, they're processing them but are not in any particular rush.

Tbh, they coyld quite easily cancel the whole lot really, well within their rights, but if they're actually trying to fulfil the orders, then well done Garmin and if it takes a wee while then so be it.

I'm with @JohnnyPanic on this.
Extra delays likely due to it being Christmas and New Year.

I'm confident mine will show up and am looking forward to a nice watch.
And if doesn't, then I'm not that bothered - never had one in the first place!

Yeah, but they haven't cancelled the whole lot, as some people have had their watches.

They can't just cherry pick a few orders to fulfil and then just call it a day.

Unless they run out of stock, but their stock management system is more sophisticated than that, right?

Yeah, but they haven’t cancelled the whole lot, as some people have had their watches.

As @Scotroutes rightly said a few pages back, this would be explained by the raft of different colours and options available, some more popular choices - Black, Graphite frinstance, went out of stock quicker than the brighter colours.

They can’t just cherry pick a few orders to fulfil and then just call it a day.

They can do whatever the **** they want tbh, but it does look like they are trying to fulfil orders.

They can do what they like but it's maybe not the best business model.

Which is why I added the last bit, that you didn't cherry pick.

Surprise surprise my scheduled delivery slot has changed again, 4th time it’s now been cancelled

Think it’s time to ask garmin where it is as I get impression it’s been lost in transit.

Edit..do they have a live chat function? Can’t find it on the site

@tpbiker They do but you have to go via the help page for a specific product (eg instinct solar ;). It's at the bottom. The chap who I spoke to yesterday was fine about looking into order issues.

Mine just arrived!

From taking it out the box initial impression is that it feels a lot lighter and smaller than my fenix. That’s Not necessarily a bad thing, but for some reason I thought it was going to be far bulkier than it is

As someone 'blessed' with skinny wrists that's good.

Certainly has its advantages. I suspect this would be far better for running than the fenix due to the weight and less likely to bounce around. Even when I’m on the mtb I find the fenix a bit cumbersome. Feels much more like a ‘sports watch’ than a watch id want to wear day to day, although obviously it could be used for both

I've just gone from a fenix 3 to a fenix 6s and there is a similar significant difference so this isn't necessarily a "fenix" issue. The 6s is way lighter and less chunky, with a similar sized screen.

messaged them yesterday, response was poor, they'll make a decision before next week, check your emails..

working on large databases its not exactly hard to get a list of email ads and send a bloody email out to those who made the order and give them an honest apraisal..

I spoke to a friendly guy on the call line. He said they are working through the epic volume of orders and I'll get an email when it on its way, or anything changes.

I could tell by his verbal delivery that he had said the same thing a few times today.

Despite the anxiety, I'm gonna remain hopeful 😀

Folks who have their watches, did the order actually change to shipped and / or email? Or did it just turn up?

Spoke to them again today. I don't think it's looking good:

Mick:
So you can't confirm that I will actually get a watch?
Jack :
I cannot unfortunately all i know if there has been an issue with processing which is far as my own knowledge goes right now

Phew, was worried you wouldn’t have room in your drawer.

Especially since I bought a bulk order for 10 of them..😉

I’ve now passed mine on to someone else, but if you don’t have a garmin watch already I suspect you will be delighted by one of these if they do ever arrive. Good luck all who are still waiting.

Well, I'll get mine anyhow, driver tried to deliver it today but couldn't cause of that wrong address I put in.

I couldn't change it at either Garmin or UPS till they attempted to deliver.

But could now since they put an address issue on the tracking, phoned up and sorted, so I'll get mine either the Morra or Friday most likely, or whenever they decide to get it back out to me. 🙂

tbh I'm guessing a lot of the delay is just because of holidays and maybe short staffed.

Mines has been on shipped since the 30th of December. Don't think they even tried to deliver till today though, so that'll be a UPS issue, but garmin switched it to shipped and give you tracking info on their site when they've given it to UPS..
