Clarks, generally.

Top movie, Kevin Smith's finest moment.

With an "e" rather than an "a". I know too many Clarkes. 🙂

How do I say it? Clurks.

If I came across the word in another context I'd pronounce it Clarks.

Clarks

Because, leaving aside the literalism of American pronunciation, you wouldn't tell your mates in the UK that you were going for a weekend in Paree would you?

I pronounce the word clerks as: 'clarks'

but I pronounce the name of that film as 'Clurks', because it is the name of a film.

True, but likewise I wouldn't tell them I just spent two hours watching some comfortable but unfashionable shoes.

w = a short oo as in book

Pretty simple

Llan oor tid

Except learn how to pronounce ll and learn how to roll those Rs.

The thing about Munich, Warsaw, Copenhagen and the rest is that they are Anglicisations for major cities that have become part of the language. Mangling the pronounciation of the village you happen to be biking in isn't quite the same thing, whether or not you are in Wales or France.

If some foreigner came to England and started mangling up the place names you'd correct them, I'm sure.

A top film. But why does pronounce become pronunciation and not pronounciation?

Somewhere in between, I suppose. Listen to some Welsh on the internet, you'll hear that sound often enough. I think the BBC have some learning sites which might help.

z1ppy - not aimed at you. Many people don't care, or think the whole idea is stupid.

Schrick - I suppose it's a bit like enunciate.
