Just bought a corded phone, but can't plug it the Virgin cable router thingummy. 4 ethernet sockets (ports?), but no phone line sockets.
Do I just need a 99p adapter from Maplin, or have I bought the wrong phone?
Thanks!
Erm.....
Don't you have a seperate phone socket mounted somewhere?
This is for a normal Virgin "landline"? There should be a separate phone connection. The cable splits where it enters your property. I guess they might not have installed a phone socket when they installed the internet access though? Did you ask for a landline?
Err your computer plugs into the router, the phone plugs into your phone socket
You need a phone socket.
Stop trying to plug it in to your Superhub.
yep, but they don't work. I know we've got a few different lines coming in, but I assume the BT phone is separate, and that we've got everything coming in over the Virgin cable. We pay for a phone line/TV/B.Band package.
sorry, replied slowly to the 1st message. tried all the phone lines, they didn't work, willl try rthem again. ta!
rented property, so no definite idea of what we've got here.
Where the cable comes into the house, there will be a phone socket for Virgin. Probably the same place the TV cable ends up.
For all your virgin media Woes....

I've no idea if he can help, but I've had such a run around with these tossers, getting a direct line is like winning the lottery, and like the altruistic guy I am, when you win the lottery, you share the love! (he did say "any probs, give me a call!"
I just found an extra phone socket behind the sofa, seems to be connected to 2 of the others, but it's the only one that works!
Bof.
Cheers for the responses.
