He used to be highly regarded but a lot of people seem to be leaning towards APM these days.

Ah, not so; there's definite push towards APM for last year in my dept.

I love it when a thread stays OT.

I think he is ace and to be honest couldn't see what all the big fuss about was when Michael Jackson died as Prince seemed way more talented. He is a total oddball though . ๐Ÿ˜€

I've seen two performances at the O2 that I didn't think I'd enjoy and both of them blew my mind. One was Mary j Blige with a deeply intense personal passion that just tears at your soul, the others was Prince with sheer energy ability and intensity that I've never experienced before or after.

Very talented, worth seeing live.

I've always thought he was very good. Great guitarist. Never noticed quite how sexy his drummer (Shelia?) is before. ๐Ÿ˜‰

He is pretty amazing at times. Utter toilet in others. Properly talented though.

I also saw a couple of O2 gigs which were great. I was also working there at the time and got to see the band rehearsing every afternoon, as each night was a bit different, which was a bit special. His stretch limo would pull up in the afternoon and he would alight onto a golf buggy to get a lift to his (purple draped) dressing rooms all of 20m away!

That Winwood / Prince clip kind of reminded me of the Chuck Berry turning into bad heavy metal moment in 'Back to the Future'. The showboating is such that he actually falls off the stage and has to be pushed back on ๐Ÿ˜€
