Hi all! Family holiday in August.... Off to Jura in france for a week. Will have 4 bikes with me for us and the kids. Can anyone recommend anywhere to stay on route maybe around Troyes ish.

I know there are formula, ibis and etap places but it's the bikes I am worried about (which will be worth more than my car!). Ideally I would like to either be able to take in room, lock them up securely or at least park them outside my window!

Any suggestions? B and b or local place fine anything really!

Thanks very much for any help

My wife and I stayed in a Premier Classe in Arras last year on the way to the alps.

Basic but very cheap and extremely clean and as the car park was protected by perimeter fence/wall, a huge security gate and cameras I didn’t bother taking my bikes out of the car.

They offered to let me take my bikes in as well.

Check out Sawdays.co.uk - we've used them for places to stay and they have a great range of options and can be roughly the same in price. Possibly safer for bikes too but I guess depends on location.

F1 didn't have any problem with bikes in the room.

Thanks! Found one just outside troyes with secure parking. They all seem pretty bike friendly which is good. The F1 Hotel replied saying that so long as I didn't put them in the bed they would be fine with it 🙂 something may have got lost in translation.

Campanile are bike friendly.
If you stay near Troyes then you have to have the sausage.

I have only had one hotel moan about bikes in probably 50 stays over the years (and that was because access to the rooms was through the dining area). I now no longer ask, I check in, take bags through and then grab the bikes a bit later. As long as they are clean no-one seems to care.

Never had any problems with Ibis hotels on french bike trips. Again, just make sure the bikes aren't caked in mud and I'm sure you'll be fine.

Never had any issues with the B&B hotels and bikes in the room. Their scrambled egg at breakfast on the other hand. WTF is that all about.

Not had a problem with F1 before, just walk the bikes into the room. No one has batted an eyelid at us.
