Been thinking about this recently and wondering whether its worth checking if I have ever had any.
Ive only really ever had credit cards and a mortgage, no other loans
Ive heard that if you had a Credit card between 1990-2005 you will likely have had it?
Also I had a mortage between 2008-2016, so thinking it could have maybe been on that?
So how do i go about checking, or do just hand my details over to one of these companies and let them take their cut if I have ever had any?

Contact the companies directly and they'll check for you. There is no point in using a third party unless you want to give them a third of whatever you get back.
There is a link on money saving expert website, did mine via that and received a nice little sum from Barclays.
Yes. It paid for roughly half of my new (to me) car
Used the links on Lloyds and NatWest websites, no third parties
Mostly done on the phone, about 1 hours work in total
We did it ourselves, new conservatory and caravan :). For us the co's didn't have a leg to stand on for most of the period wife was classed as self employed......an exclusion on most of the policies!!
I used the MSE resolver for Barclays, they came back and said I didn't have any. I need to follow up with some more info.
Natwest claim is ongoing...
I had a loan with Barclays a few years ago. Used the MSE resolver tool and got a nice sum back. Took me about 20-30 minutes to complete.
Thanks for the memory jog guys. No idea if I had PPI but just put in enquiries to Natwest and MBNA to find out! Very easy to do through forms on their sites (MBNA's much better than Gnatwest's)
Here's hoping..!
