Went into a newsagents in the middle of Chesterfield town centre today. Picked up a can of Red Bull and asked for 50g of Golden Virginia tobacco - came to around £14.
Got my card out to pay and the woman behind the counter stated that they didn't take cards???
WTF, it's 2010 you know?
Not the end of the world, but seemed pretty bloody stoopid to me.

My old local shop wouldn't take cards under a tenner, and anything you spent on tobacco products wasn't allowed to count towards the ten pound cut off. Didn't go there again

Drove me mad when I first got back from Korea.
Pretty much everything there can bepaid for by cards or even your phone.
