We're on the last episode of 'The Sinner' tonight with Jessica Biel, which is brilliant so we need a new series for tomorrow night. I would prefer it to be all wrapped or at least mostly concluded in one series, I want an end and I want a resolution. Would prefer like murder mystery things with a twist but would consider anything, even period drama!

Already seen:

The OA, Strangers Things 1&2, Altered Carbon (meh), Peaky Blinders, Dark Mirror, Homeland, Fargo, Orange is the new Black, The frankenstein thing starring Sean Bean, Narcos, Ozrak. & that awful storyland thing starring Robert Carlyle as Rumplestiltskin, the wife watches it sometimes and I have to leave the room.

Thanks all.

Last I watched was unabomber, thought that was very good, don't see el chapo, better call saul, daredevil, marcopolo, luck cage, jessica jones, 13 reasons why, on your list,  all worth a watch.

Shooter? There is more than 1 season, but season 1 does wrap-up the initial story arc nicely.

Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective  (I've only watched first season so far but I think it's worth a watch)

I can recomend any of the below. Dark is in German with English subtitles but don't let that put you off as it is a great series. Also comes in a dubbed version but I found that too off putting.

Manhunt Unabomber

Dark

Alias Grace

Godless

Not started it yet but The Terror looks tidy

It does look good but it's not on netflix is it?

Ozark +1

Shooter was easy mindless fun

Designated survivor to see mild mannered Kiefer Bauer trying to be president and not want to just kill them all

Jessica Jones and Luke Cage

Apparently it says Godless is a "limited series" on Netflix, what did that mean?

Orphan Black is incredible, but there's five seasons of it.

Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective

... has just been cancelled.

The Killing (I've only seen the US version, but it was very good)

House of Cards (definitely doesn't fulfill the 'ends in one series' requirement though...)

I assume you've done Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul?

Orphan Black was very good.

The Fall

Hinterland

It's only a season long like band of brothers. It's like a longer mini series. There won't be a second season.

Thanks guys, making notes. If you haven't watched it yet then I would recommend 'The   Sinner' bit of religious dogma, sex, drugs and murder!

Rone..One of us is a thing about Jews wanting to leave the religion, not a brit twisty thing. Did you get the name right?

Also a few of you mentioned The Terror.. there isn't anything called that but when you search for it, it brings up 'things like The Terror' so maybe it was on there but not anymore!?

Cheers all. Just going through them now. That designated survivor thing just looks 24 all over again! given who the main dude is and 21 episodes per season!? meehh

I quite enjoyed the first series of Dirk Gently once you get passed the fact that Dirk Gently is a rake thin neurotic homosexual so nothing like the books. But the second series is pretty meh.

i presume you’ve watched the British series like Broadchurch and the Fall. I also like the Blacklist. James Spader is great in it.

The Invisible Guardian (Spanish)

I think The Terror is only available via some sort of BT subscription so only a couple of people will get to watch it.

Enjoyed the 12 Monkeys series - takes a while to get going, but the second season in particular is fun. Waiting for series 3 to pop up at some point.

The terror is my fav thing on the telly at the moment. It's so forboding and sinister plus there's a great cast (all British I think). On ep 4 now and there should be a new one tonight.

+1 for Better Call Saul (so much better than Breaking Bad) & The Good Place (clever and funny).

I really liked The Punisher, not your average comic book toss.

Wife said I should watch Daredevil, that was bloody hard work by comparison. Dunno if I have the patience for series 2.

"Dexter" if you want an excellent box set all finished off (although the last season may have been one too far)

Also another vote for "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency". Seen both series, absolutely awesome!!!

That's a good shout and the previous season "The People Versus OJ Simpson" is on Netflix. I haven't actually watched it but my wife raves about how good it was.

Hannibal?

Done the Scandi's? The Bridge, Killing, Modus etc? Obviously avoid the US remakes.

Got Amazon Prime? The Man in the High Castle and American Gods.

Our favourites so far were Stranger Things and Dark.

Currently watching Narcos....

Godless is very good. Jeff Bridges is brilliant in it.

Spotless was really good and only one series.

Don't forget Deathgrip is on Netflix. Some of the riding in that is mind boggling.

If you haven't seen it the foreigner with Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnon is surprisingly good, but it is a film though.

If you have amazon prime then Sneaky Pete is good. Second series of that just appeared too.

American Vandal? Presented in a very serious way about a kid who gets kicked out of school for drawing cocks on everyone's cars.

Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective

… has just been cancelled.

Yes but not because of the show but because the show runner Max Landis has been #MeToo-ed

While not the "best" TV show evah I thought it is one of the funnest I've watched in ages and has far more of a wacked out comic book feel to it than a lot of actual comic book adaptations.

Lost In Space re-boot was advertised on terrestrial last night

I highly recommend Loudermilk on Amazon Prime too.

Don’t know if it’s been mentioned yet, but yesterday, they were raving about some series coming to Netflix on 5Live afternoon edition - something based on a Harlan Coben novel - sounded quite good (if they’re to be believed). Can’t bloody remember the name of it though.

Watching Bloodline at the minute and enjoying it, 3 series but don't think there will be any more.

We've watched these and enjoyed all of them (I have a 3 series limit, any more and I lose interest!)

Sinner, Godless, Hannibal, Dark, River, Travelers, Top of the Lake, Making a murderer, Luther (may have had more than 3, but was good!)

Hap & Leonard, Man in the high castle if you've got Amazon

Having lived in LA for a while I quite like Love makes me feel 28 again!

The kids are thoroughly enjoying Lemony Snicket's A series of Unfortunate Events - it's very Wes Andersonesque

There's also the English dubbed Spanish series Money Heist - just finished episode 1 not sure what to make of it yet

You have all failed to mention what is without doubt the best show on Netflix: Rake.

It's set in Sydney, made by the ABC and is a magnificent, clever, funny courtroom farce that lampoons politics and more. Absolutely brilliant TV. Think Californication, but courts and real smarts instead.

Power; it's mostly gratuitous boobs, guns, and violence. It is about 4 seasons long though (and cliffhanger setup for more). It's like Sons of Anarchy bus swap the motorbikes for a classic Ford Mustang.

House of cards is really good if you like US political thrillers but 5 series long with a sixth on the way .

Canceled after the whole Kevin Spacey being a bit of a gropey old pervert thing.
