Ideally needs to be about 1TB, speed not massively important as will not be used that often. Will mainly be used for backup of photograps. Thanks.
I bought a Samsung, runs very nicely and cost £50 for 1TB. Looks good. I deleted off the in-built security but supposedly that's quite useful.

I use Seagate Backup Plus 1TB. One is a photo/video store/backup, the other is partitioned as transport and backup. Both are backed up to a 2TB Seagate drive. They've been trouble-free for a year or so. OK at 60 quid.

can't fault various WD high capacity portable drives I've had.
USB rather than powered.
as above, deleted/removed the one touch back stuff that was on already.
