Who's had one?
I've not but Mrs stu's had a couple.
A highbrow question I know but still interested.

I had one and cherished it. I then had to give it to my plumber for tightening my nuts. 🙁

Nick, they're not as absorbent as the old ones. Smoother wipe, though. Obviously.

Have you notice that a fiver is a bit smaller than it used to be? Apt given the exchange rate.

I was surprised to get a couple out of a cash machine. It's been tenners only for years.
Wonder if now we'll be able to withdraw denominations of 5 again...

I heard from a friend that there's a thing where you give your first plazzy fiver to charity. So she did, and so did I.

Yup had a few. Had one shop keep moan about them saying they were rubbish and won't last long, I then produced a dog eared nearly brown old fiver from my wallet and told her I wanted the plastic one back and she could have the old one. Her face made me chuckle.

Cool story.

The cashpoint gave me 2 last week, I put one in the coolant tank of the lathe at work for a while just to test how good they were 😆

Took it out and wiped it off and it was as good as new.

Loomis dropped of a grands worth at the store on launch day. They are nice but crease easy and are so smooth they stick together perfectly, they also weight different on the cash counter machine. I've seen so many the novelty has worn off.

That's pretty common with new notes tbh, used to hate it when we got sent fresh ones.

First one I had was as change from a tenner crossing the Tamar Bridge. I'm keeping that one. Shame I haven't got an ATM-fresh old style fiver to keep with it.

Complicates the question "Are you paying with plastic?" doesn't it. I'm sticking with a barter system to bring the economy to life.

Been in circulation up here for a few week mostly from cash machines, the same cash machines that have dispensed fivers for years.

I was surprised to get six fresh ones out of the ATM after withdrawing £60.

Later on I changed a mates tenner for two of my fivers whilst out for a curry with work. It swiftly received a 'rip test' and was folded, I then passed a pile of cash up the table whilst ducking the flying hot towels being launched everywhere, and turned back to find said mate holding half a plastic fiver in each hand and looking sheepish.

He'd used his teeth and succeeded in ripping it...apparently its like opening a bag of rice, once it starts going there is no stopping it...

Clydesdale have issued them in Scotland for a long old while - maybe a year?

Seen loads at work but not had one myself. They're all being put into circulation via supermarkets and cashpoints rather than through the banks so if you want one try your local Tesco self-serve till, lots have been converted to give them out but not the old fivers.

Are they directional fivers? If not then you won't get the best of quality.

I say fake, when it jumps out the track it seems like he miraculously finds the right spot again. But then another video was suggested, and in that it seems like you can see the note vibrating in time with the music when it catches the light...

I don't have a cassette deck or a VCR (or a CD player actually) let alone a turntable so I can't make a fool of myself trying it out 😆
