Hi all.

Just bought a copy of PSE7 to edit raw images from my Nikon D5000.

Unfortunately it won't open the files (.nef) which it should do. I've downloaded the latest update of Cameraraw 5.4 but that won't run as it claims there isn't an original cameraraw program to update, and I can't find the basic program on Adobe to download. Have been on the phone twice to Adobe (in India?) who are being naff all help - have told me to download various things, none of which have helped.

Any ideas? Doesn't help that the only internet connection I have on that machine is via a mobile phone/bluetooth connection...

Thanky'all...

I think you'll be needing the Nikon codec for raw files...

Googling '.nef codec' or 'nikon RAW codec' should put you straight.

Ok, done it now...

Downloaded it from somewhere else and hey presto it worked.

Next Q - I'm using it on a laptop with a 1024x 600 resolution (ie wide screen), but its asking for a 1024x 768 resolution (ie 4x3) and as such is cropping off the bottom of the RAW convertor screen, meaning I still can't use it.

Any ideas?

Are you sure that Adobe have released the correct RAW converter for your camera.
It's not been out long, has it?

Just done a quick google search.....does this help?

OK, we're there. Google as always is my friend. Hunt far enough and there's a way to make the laptop have a scrollable display. Minor PITA to use, but does actually work.
