TLR, those pics are fantastic. Any chance of a full breakdown so we can geek out over your settings (I'd be interested to know what shutter speed in particular!)
Very varied to be honest, lots of experimenting. If you follow the Flickr link all the settings are in there along with lots of other pictures. But basically as fast a shutter speed as possible, you'd probably need about 1/4000th to really freeze the wings, but the key for me seemed to be using a remote triggered flash on 1/16th or 1/8th. This has the effect of helping freeze the bird, and isolate it whilst still allowing reasonable shutter speeds and ISO. My old 7d isn't great at high ISO, much above 800 is a bit of a struggle so super fast shutter speeds weren't really available to me.
The EXIF data is not shown Tim, at least it's not viewable to me.
Interesting to hear that you used a flash, though! Have you cropped them much too? I'd love to get into wildlife photography, but I have neither the patience or the cash!
Is there not a small 'i' in the bottom right of the page? Maybe only I can see it as it's my picture.
Wildlife photography needn't be expensive, £350 for 7d, £550 for a 400mm f5.6.
Patience is most definitely required though!
Not really within the last month, but I have only just got round to sorting the images out from a trip in the summer. Both pictures are from the Isle of Wight steam railway which is a great destination including some photographic gold.

Thanks fettling, most of the pics are taken with my phone (old expertise z3) and a lidl clipon lens 🙂 I mostly use snapseed for editing. I have a nikon d3100 but I rarely find myself with it which I hope to remedy.

Very tempted to get this one printed out for the wall, I just wish my shed had the same vintage clutter. The picture was very challenging to get as I didn't have a tripod handy and light levels inside the shop were poor to say the least. Very pleased with how this one came out.
