Disastrous run yesterday on day 1 of de-escalation phase 0, so took the bike out for the evening slot (8-11pm) and it was one of the best rides of the year despite being humdrum back roads and some tame single track. Even getting stung by nettles up both arms felt good...
Got back to town and the roads were full of bikes, not a car to be seen.

Quick blast to the top of the hill to catch the sunset and back. Also spent ten minutes fruitlessly chasing a lamb around that got separated from its mother. Will have to phone the shepherd in the morning (biggish lamb, it'll be reet)

Combining my local rides with FR egg-hunting and foraged veg
First two evenings out for a week or so. I’ve been more like Nosferatu of late. Yesterday saw no eggs, but a great light. Nice and quiet. Today I sourced some eggs an from animal-rescue, and for a good price. Also some fresh nettle-tops. (nettle soup on the menu).
Well-chuffed.
Getting risky on the roads again, I noticed today. A few close-calls. One very. Plan to try and enjoy the 80% quieter/safer lanes while it lasts

Stunning morning, and a 50 mile road circuit including Lake Vyrnwy
managed a 16.5 miler today... first time out on the bike for months now...
A short 20km ride before lunch (450m of hills though... Bloody W Yorks 😎)
Had short ride up to Baildon Moor just before sunset, very quiet and a bit cooler than during the day:-) Aren't bikes brilliant!

Road riding in London today- bit freaky, no cars and loads of people out on bikes enjoying themselves.

Saturday. 42k loop from the door, back lanes and a few bridleway/byway sections and a big chunk of Wenlock Edge. More Road miles than I prefer on a chunky trail bike but it was otherwise a perfect day. Birdsong, wildlife, perfect weather, stunning views, empty lanes and a solitary picnic enroute.
As they've not been getting much use we broke the Ebikes out today.
