I can't be trusted not to fall off,off road so I took the Jeffsy for a road spin. As you do.

This picture has everything though.

A cathedral.
A castle.
A woman chasing a dog.

What you say, no Soviet era submarine as featured in a movie a few years back? I suggest you look again!

Rochester castle and cathedral by the looks of it. I’ve been around the submarine at the docklands.

Early one for me to beat the crowds. Good job too as I passed loads of people going out as I was coming back!

Had a double Inguinal hernia op early March, was told not to cycle for 28 days,Thursday was day 31 so I got out on the road bike for a steady spin.
The sun was shining & with the bat flu situation the roads were quiet.
[img] [/img]
I did a steady 24 miles, following it up with 26 miles the next day.
Yesterday I had a rest,today I did 33 miles.
[img] [/img]
It was misty crossing the moss first thing.
Back to work tomorrow, next time I'll get time to ride will be Friday,I just hope we are still allowed out next week!

Went out a bit later today, quite alot more out walking. Couple of large groups, apart from that most seem to be keeping the distance. Nice to see a couple of families out riding with the kids

When we got back from the ride our daughter had made another cake

Sticky toffee cake with caramel icing

[img] [/img]

Will be leaving enough room after dinner for a slice

A slice at a time. 😅 It tastes great. Would have never thought of putting the flavours of a pudding into a cake. She usually makes our goodies for the race weekends but since they have been cancelled/postponed she is using up the ingredients. Her chocholate brownie Cadburys cream Scotch eggs will have to wait for the next Tweedlove

chocholate brownie Cadburys cream Scotch eggs

I had to re-read this bit of the sentence three times. Even looking at the words is delicious.

A warning from the world to definitely remember the 'no gnar' bit. I did, and still ended up on my arse in a fallen tree.

@halifaxpete - I really like that sculpture of Scammonden Res. Getting to know it really well as it's close to here.

Not riding these days, so here’s one or two taken when I go out at the weekend, I can’t be bothered during the week - these were taken Saturday and yesterday, the first couple on the edge of town, the others out at Biddestone, several miles away.

I was hoping to find a place where there were bluebells, celandines, violets, primroses and cowslips in the same place, but couldn’t quite manage it.

Edit - here’s some I took about a week ago just outside of Calne, at a nature reserve called Morgan’s Hill, a place with fantastic views; first one looks across to the edge of the Cotswolds on the skyline, from just above Bath on the right towards Warwick on the left - if it’s really clear, you can see the high points in the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains behinds them! There’s one from a clump of trees called Furze Knoll which the local bikers use because it’s got a great bomb hole in the middle with a big drop-in, the shot between the trees has Silbury Hill in the middle distance behind a small dark area of trees.

Plenty of bluebells out in the Surrey Hills this morning.

Quiet, dry trails and sunshine. Despite everything that's happening, this is shaping up to be a lovely Spring for riding after the wettest Winter I can remember.

First ride on the rigid experiment. Very enjoyable and not as hard on the wrists as I feared. I think I'll persist with it as it suits the current riding.

One from yesterday's ride out-

There has been a lot of felling, with a lot of debris on the fire roads, I was very wary of a stick/wheel interface!
