My brother sold my Mum a Samsung phone recently. I'm not sure of the model but it's an android touchscreen, probably around £100

She has had it for a week and told me she wants to get rid of it

I've told her to stick with it, but she has got the usual habit of not listening when I try to explain how to use anything. I put it down to stubborness

Any ideas for a phone that would be easier to use

I ideally wanted to get her something that would allow use of whatsapp, but that's not essential

iPhone is most user friendly for oldies IME.

Not in the app you want? Press the home button.
Can't see the app you want? Swipe till you see it then tap it.

If she's not going to listen when you try and help her, then get her this:

Then ask her if she'd like another go with the Samsung.

Argos do 'old fashioned' Nokia's for £5

Program freinds and family so she can do one touch dialing on it.

If she wants apps then get her a tablet - she'll be abel to see the screen a lot more easily and they're more forgiving of less acurate finger jabs.

Mrs Seadog happily embraced an iPhone after years of stubbornness and clinging to her old Nokia. A miracle of modern technology and design.

My parents both use iPhones/iPads with no issues after struggling with cheaper Android alternatives for some time.
