epitomised the 80's, the world will be a more boring place for him not being on it. 🙁

In reply to Waderider: I'm guessing that since not all heart attacks kill people, it's the (more) massive ones which do?

Link states cardiac arrest which is different from a heart attack, and if occurs outwith a hospital is nearly always fatal unless patient receives immediate medical attention, 8% survival rate in the uk.

He was deinately a unique character, RIP

My mates mum and dad owned Probe records. He used to work there occasionally before dead or alive took off. Always thought he was a bit weird but he was pretty funny. Amongst all the skaters, punks and metalheads he stuck out, but he was blessed with a razor sharp wit.

He's only been dead a few hours and my local hospital has already named a unit after him 😯

A real shame but if you keep causing your body unnecessary shock it will eventually give in. RIP.

RIP. Iconic song

A close friend of mine died of total heart failure, his wife a GP said he probably died in seconds. He was 59 and the first male member of his family line to live past 50 due to genetic issues. He'd had a big atack when he was 51 but survived it thanks to very prompt hospitalisation.

Amazing memory of dancing with a girl to You Spin Me Round in 1984. Things happened 🙂 There's a joke somewhere in his band's name, but not for me to use, oh no. RIP Pete.

A massive heart attack is a severe form of heart attack that causes damage to a large portion of the heart. This may result in unconsciousness and permanent heart damage. Worst cases cause the heart to stop beating (cardiac arrest), leading to death.

Apparently.

Did he have another hit, or was it just what he did to his face that made him a celeb?

No hits since the 80s... amazing what fame a hit can bring, if you then become a celeb.
