Food of the gods?
Ambrosia indeed
Hot pease pudding & a pork pie 🙂
Yeah. Hot pork or bacon chop with hot pease pud.
Im a big fan of the PP/beetroot combo too (added to your choice of sarnie filling)
it's rank
it's lentils, not food
what the hell is a split pea?
This Northumberland lad living in Cardiff had to learn how to make it himself. It's bloody easy too; not the fanny about that on-line recipe guides suggest.
Soak your peas overnight,
Add loads of water and plenty of salt,
simmer until it looks right.
Stick it in your ham butty.
You can add ham and stuff, or even strain it through a sive but would you really bother? I know Porky Gebhards in Morpeth doesn't bother with that shoit.
So is it a srictly Northern delicacy? Its all jellied eels darn sarf 😉

The butcher we get it from pours in the fat from his home cured ham. Yum.
I hope everyone buys it by the scoop. Dollops are imperial, scoops are metric.
I believe it's boiled in the water that the butcher's hams were cooked in
Disgusting.
Paul, you are a funny, funny man. Just spat a brew onto the table!
😆
😉
By the way, ignore Capt.Jon
Pease pudd is awesome fried.

Now you are talking. Morpeth is just down the road... you will also find much of it blocking the river Wansbeck...
Gorgetastic, got some today down Durham market along with some decent ham. Guess what's for lunch tomorra.
