Been on umpteen pc forums today and no further forward - not even typing above question into Google helps - so now I bow to the power of STW to sort this quandry out....

Am assuming that you want your phone to tap into your home WLAN - if so just enter the password on your phone that you set on your home WLAN when you first set it up.

Not sure exactly what you are trying to do but if you want to access the internet on your phone over wifi then you'll need to interrogate the router than the computer to find the password. For that you will need the admin password for the router. If you are trying to access the data on the computers via wifi then the password will be somewhere on the computer, presumeably on the Network and Internet Connections part of the Control Panel if you are using XP.

What wireless router are you using?

If you can't remember the password, you'll have to get onto the router via your pc and then you'll be able to see what it is.

There will be an ip address that brings up your router - something like 192.168.1.1 - the manual for the router should say what it is - and then in there there'll be a wireless/security tab/page/link that will show you the password.

Gonefishing - xp blanks out the password once it's been entered so you'll have to get it from the router.

Router will usually have a default username/password which is often guest and guest. Again, the manual will probably tell you.

It will probably be on a sticker on the back/bottom of your router.

It may call it the WEP key.
