Sold a bike for £1300 last week. Buyer paid via PayPal, I withdrew funds to bank account and have paid for some work to be done with it.
Now my PayPal is showing -£1300 with the payment pending?
What's all that about?

Not true. Feedback is not linked to Paypal.
Can take a few days for money to get across. Phone up PayPal if you are concerned, they are actually pretty good to deal with.

A hold is an amount of money that belongs to you, but is temporarily set aside by PayPal.
When you get paid by a buyer, the money is credited to your PayPal account but not all of it will be immediately available. Part of the payment will show as pending in your PayPal account. This means you won't be able to spend or transfer the money while the hold is in place.
How long is the hold?
Usually up to 21 days, [b]but you may be able to access your money sooner if you receive positive Feedback from the buyer[/b]. As long as there is no buyer dispute, claim, chargeback, or other negative action on your account, the hold will be released after 21 days. Thanks wwaswas, I clearly didn't know that.
Would need to work out why it has gone to Hold though as that is not the normal status. Again, phoning PayPal is actually a worthwhile thing to do if you have any questions. Whereas trying to phone eBay is a total waste of time.
Jonny, mark it as dispatched in my ebay, and email paypal, I've had to do it a couple of times.

I sold something a while ago and the payment was pending for a while. It cleared after a week and then I posted the item.
I did google the pending issue and seem to recall that this can be the case if the payment was made by email cheque, whatever one of those is.
I'd not release the goods until the payment clears.
I refunded a buyer once and it went through as an e cheque as my bank account wasn't linked to my pay pal. Took about 7 days for the buyer to be able to get at the funds. Still doesn't explain how it's gone to pending after you've withdrew it though?
I had subscribed to a website via PayPal ( all legitimate and above board, it's a training website for work ) and decided to cancel as I had been on a training course which covered all the points the website covers.
The website owner refunded me within 10 mins of me e mailing my request to cancel but on PayPal, it was classed as pending for about 10 days.
I wasn't worried as I know the guy is 100% honest, but it was strange it was pending at all.
