I paid for a holiday cottage (one night only) via paypal.
I am communicating with a french lady, who is clearly no techy.
She wont click on the 'accept money' link as she 'does not have paypal' - but she does not need a paypal account(I thought...)
So the money 'has not arrived' - it is still with the hole that is paypal.
I escalated a complaint, they have refused as I bought a service (not covered), rather than a physical item.
How do I get my money back off paypal? They have it, not holiday cottage.
If she doesn't accept it, it'll come back to you after 30 days.
Call them, explain the situation, provide evidence and contact information and they should sort it.
Hmmm, I sent on 30th March. Not back yet. Maybe she does have it. ๐
Instructions to cancel also here.. https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/helpcenter/helphub/article/?solutionId=FAQ2327
If you can't cancel it it would suggest she's claimed it - i think it also shows as unclaimed in your history if it is.
It is showing as completed...
So she may have clicked despite no account and paypal took it from you and put it ...where?
Set yourself up new email unconnected to PayPal and sent a pound to it, accept it and see what happens?
I thought you needed an account to accept money?
P.S bit unusual to pay via PayPal unless they offer it as an option?
