The wife & I are off to Paris (hopefully) for a couple of nights.

Can you recommend a nice small hotel but not too expensive please.

It'll be our first getaway without the kids since I can't remember when.

We stayed here, that was 7 years ago. It's mental, but in a good way.

Thats exactly what the wife and I did last year. Grandparents kept our son for a long weekend. I loved it. All hotels are small. (Well the rooms are anyway!)

Damn! Too late...

My tip would have been http://www.paris-hotel-a.com/

Still, I can recommend a nice place to eat as well - le Clos Bourguignon, Rue de Caumartin.

I stayed in Le Dokhan's near the Trocadero last year
small with a boutiquey feel
don't remember it being too expensive

Well, the place above is ace, IMHO. A real backstreet bistro serving ace steak/frites and lovely chilled red (Don't knock it until you've tried it.) Oh, and the old couple who run the place are lovely. I try and eat there on every trip to Paris, and they know remember me by name! Not bad after only going there five times or so, I'd say!
