I’m nervous today, my best mate is a huge Leicester fan and we have a lot of injury’s! What a season it’s turning out to be though.
There are some strong contenders aren’t there?
There are indeed...

Lamela pips everyone though for going down then rolling around, clutching his face like he’d just been on the receiving end of an uppercut from Tyson Fury after the merest glancing brush from Tony
I think even Ashley Young would have blushed at that one

Oh @binners, you know better than that. Fake news! 😜
Blimey! Lingard is absolutely on fire at the moment! Banging them in for fun!
Yeah, I think being a bigger fish in a smaller pond suits him, virtually guaranteed to get minutes rather than competing to get a place in the starting line up. If you compare him to those he is competing against for a starting place in the united line up, he is probably a little less talented but more industrious, so that little step down to the teams just below the normal top 4 allows him to show his strengths.
As predicted...

And again...

Love it! 😂
Played ‘em off the park second half
Where's Aubameyang? Is he injured?
Where’s Aubameyang? Is he injured?
In a pretty all round demolition of Arsenal yesterday, Paul Merson described The Emirates as ‘a retirement home’ where players sign big contracts then kick back and settle for finishing mid-table (or on Ozil’s case not even giving a shit about that).
He reserved particular venom for Aubamayang who, as captain, had been benched for showing up late for training.
Can you imagine someone like Mark Noble, club captain at West Ham, or Jordan Henderson at Liverpool being late for training? Can you imagine their reactions to a player who was? Look where they are in the League compared to Arsenal. Says it all really
Perhaps Pierre Emerick nipped out for some Werthers Originals?
On the other hand, it might just be about that ridiculous haircut 😂
He's had interesting hair for a while so it's not lockdown hair
How come so many footballers have freshly trimmed/styled hair?
How come so many footballers have freshly trimmed/styled hair?
That's been quite widely reported on in the news when idiots have posted their illegal actions on social media. I don't know if some clubs have hairdressers in the team bubble alongside physios etc?
How come so many footballers have freshly trimmed/styled hair?
Mrs Binners suitably dry appraisal of the haircut situation was 'They're probably all married to hairdressers"
She's probably right 🙂
Big Sam is at it again. Watching the football that the Baggies are playing it’s difficult to see why they’re in the relegation zone
It’s also difficult to see that it’s Big Sam that’s doing it. Hoofing optimistic long balls over the top this most certainly isn’t
They’re taking Southampton apart here
So funny! Official paint partner goes rogue!
Gary Neville, love him or hate him, is absolutely on the money about today’s shenanigans

If they want to go, let them go. But they don't come back. Ever. Whatever legal changes to names, owners etc they might use.
I don’t think this will ever happen but it just shows how utterly and completely detached from the fans the owners of these clubs are.
They don’t give a flying **** about the clubs of the fans. They just want to make the most money possible. We’ve always known that the Glazers were parasitic scum from the moment those leaches arrived.
I think it won't happen on this occasion, as one of the strongest leagues has told them to piss off, as have the French. It's already even more pointless than the world club championship. Plus the threat of banning participating players from FIFA stuff will help.
The owners of the English clubs who've signed up can get ****ed though.
It would seem doomed to failure, given the almost universal hostile reaction so far. So why even propose it? Leverage to prompt UEFA to further expand the Champions League? Or just pure greed and a gigantic helping of naivety? It’s probably a good thing the stadiums are empty right now. Football without promotion and relegation is dead.
I would be quite happy for my lot (City) to get docked a load of points and let Leicester and WH duke it out for the title this season. Signing up would be a clear breach of PL rules, and this cabal of idiots need to be slapped down.
It's probably a bargaining chip to make the next Prem/FA/Chumps League TV rights move more in their favour
Doesn’t look like it now. Looks like they’re deadly serious.
An absolute ****ing joke!
Here’s the announcement from one of Europe’s elite who just flukes a 97th minute equaliser against Fulham today
https://twitter.com/arsenal/status/1383909222895603716?s=21
Its a betrayal of home based fans. If there is enough money in foreign TV fans, then goodbye and good luck to them. But at that point the clubs become an NFL type franchise who could be based anywhere in the world.
THe end of the game we've loved for 125+ years as we know it.
Football can shove itself up it's own arse now.
Pundits, ex players and all other purveyors of the #PremierLeague suddenly spouting about greed, elitism, and betrayal of the working man supporters can quite frankly GTF.
All six should be kicked out of the national leagues and Cup competitions, only way back via the conferences etc.
It's been grim watching football being changed by money over the last 20years, but this will be the final nail in the coffin for me.
Is this European Super League announcement (that has riled the Premier League so much) any different to when the Premier League set up its own top flight English football (Premier League) when there was already a top flight English football league?

While I kind of agree with you, the difference is any team from Non-league to the Championship can make it's way into the premier league. This proposal is a closed shop. I wonder if it's just a move by these clubs to get what they want from UEFA. They've been wanting more champions league places made available so it'll be the clubs from smaller leagues that end up getting pushed out into the Europa league.

The difference is that, while the PL was a financial landgrab to monopolise money about to flow into the game, effectively division 1 was replaced with the PL in a straight swap, and the fixture list didn't look a lot different.
This will fillet out the biggest six clubs for far more fixtures, and the domestic league will become a relative backwater with the second XI turned out for more PL matches in the way they've done for the league cup/FA cup.
The motivation is the same as always, money, but this time their fans will actually see their club heading off for mid-table fixtures at Inter or wherever and losing interest in their national league.
Turning that once-in-a-season massive game against a European giant like Real into just another fixture, home and away.
THis is in addition to the 38 PL games ? I assumed it was completely instead of the PL games ?
This is in addition to the 38 PL games ? I assumed it was completely instead of the PL games ?
The powers that be won't wear that. It's either/or. If they continue with this then they'll be booted out of their respective existing leagues
THis is in addition to the 38 PL games ?
Presumably this is what they want. They're calling in a 'new midweek league'. I can't see how the financials stack up if they lose PL revenue. Trouble is, it's holding a gun to the PL's head too, as Sky et al won't carry on paying the same money for a league without these six.
I'm a spurs fan, and I'm incredibly disappointed in this. Time to support my second team more now I guess. Come on Northampton Town!
There's not 1 positive comment on Tottenham's facebook announcement (ok I didn't read them all, but all 10 or so that I did...).
The Champions league should be for the teams that did the best the season before, not a everyone's a winner type thing. Plus we are Spurs so will lose every game probably.
They’re calling in a ‘new midweek league’.
Well considering managers are complaining there's too many fixtures, then you'd assume they'll have to drop certain tournaments from their proper teams, so FA cup, league cup etc would be dumped from the big 6's desires, but that still doesn't help as they're often on Saturdays anyway.
So they'll be playing the normal number of games, against the normal teams and then adding 22 more (assuming 11 games home and away) and the fans are supposed to pay money to fly to these and buy tickets ? I'm not seeing this as being reasonable at all.
It isn’t meant to be reasonable. It’s all about money. The Spanish pair in particular are completely broke & they desperately need to find a source of cash. I really don’t understand why the well funded English clubs feel the need to do this because cash flow isn’t really a problem for them. Greed pure & simple.
and the fans are supposed to pay money to fly to these and buy tickets ?
The fans are supposed to pay their Sky subs and sit at home.
Well considering managers are complaining there’s too many fixtures, then you’d assume they’ll have to drop certain tournaments
League Cup is already a bit of a joke tournament, this proposal basically takes control of the Champions League, kills that competition, and allows the founding clubs to keep and guarantee that revenue, while graciously allowing the occasional extra team to come to the party.
I suppose it will be funny watching Arsenal prop up the table every year, but the franchise model of competition is inherently sterile.
The biggest shock to me about the announcement is how shocked everyone is, this has been bubbling for years. The "big 6" want guaranteed income, they don't want the jeopardy that qualifying or not for a competition gives.
It'll be fascinating how the domestic leagues deal with this. Will they kick out their biggests names? That seems unlikely, irrelevant of the bluster they are giving at the moment. It's also interesting to see no German or French teams there.
Well considering managers are complaining there’s too many fixtures, then you’d assume they’ll have to drop certain tournaments from their proper teams
By the looks of it, the managers found out about this at the same time as the rest of us. The club owners have cooked this up between themselves to the complete exclusion of everybody else. The managers, the players and the fans obviously didn't figure in their proceedings at all. Says it all really.
At Man Yoo, we've always known own owners were money-grubbing parasites who didn't give a toss about the club or the fans, I just hope that the fans of the other clubs here can now see their owners for what they are, and how little they care about them.
I know that Citeh and Liverpool fans generally have a more benevolent view of their owners. Now they can see them for what they truly are.
I know that Citeh and Liverpool fans generally have a more benevolent view of their owners.
Not really. It has been nice to have a bit of success in the domestic competitions, but I'd rather go back to the good old days of flirting with relegation every season than travel further down this path. It all feels sterile these days. Without the lows, the highs mean nothing. And while the Spanish teams desperately need the revenue, apparently, that's certainly not the case for City's owners.
Good to see the 'they need us more than we need them' arguments being advanced again, suggesting the PL will cave and let them stay. That worked out well for us as a nation recently.
I think they're looking at the start of the sort of conferences they have for NFL and AFL. I'd imagine they've cast enviable glances at a multi billion industry where everyone gets a shit tonne of money and no threat of relegation if you play badly. Money ruins sports again.
It’s also interesting to see no German or French teams there.
Yet. There are still 3 clubs to be announced. According to reports the only reason PSG haven't signed up yet is there could be rules in place that mean "they can't use the full extent of their financial power", but I'm sure they are enjoying taking the pats on the back from Macron and UEFA.
The German teams are going to have the issue that they have the 50+1 rule so the supporters have the majority share holding in clubs.
